A story of hardship and perseverance in outback Australia when life was hard and death came all too easily. This presentation describes how Rev. John Flynn, with the help of many others like nurse Mary Rogasch and engineer Alf Traeger contributed so much to the development of outback Australia in relation to ministry, communication, transport, education as well as his most famous contribution to medical services through the Flying Doctor Service.

The presentation also highlights the personal qualities of John Flynn that make him an inspirational role model for students of today: perseverance, vision, compassion, risk taking, faith, and plain hard work.

The presentation of this remarkable Australian organisation uses a mixture of story-telling, role play and student interaction, aimed at upper primary and lower secondary students.  The presentation includes a number of interesting and sometimes amusing anecdotes to complement the overall story of John Flynn and the Flying Doctor Service.
